a little life update

Writer's picture: ShayShay

Hello beautiful humans! Sorry it has been a while since I've posted on here! I have been pretty busy lately with work and life but that isn't a bad thing! I guess you could say I'm having a hard time finding inspirational topics to blog about, but I'm working on it!

Is post anxiety a thing? If it is, I definitely have it. I want this blog to be meaningful not only to me, but to you as well! There are hundreds of blog post ideas and prompts out there on web but I find these to be based on material things (not that there is anything wrong with that, it just isn't my thing).

I know that as long as I'm enjoying myself and happy with what I'm creating that I shouldn't worry about anything else, but what can I say? I'm a cancer. I care a lil too much sometimes.

So I thought I would just share a little life update to let you all know I'm still here and I still plan on creating more, I just need some time to think of some good and interesting ideas to expand on. If you have any post requests or ideas don't hesitate to send me a message through instagram or even an email! I could honestly use the help and I would love to know what you like to see on here! Lets go through this journey together!

Now on to my life update:

This weekend my sister is coming home to celebrate our big brothers birthday! The whole family in going to Top Golf for some family fun and I am making my brother's birthday cake! Maybe my next post will be the cake recipe!

Next weekend Joe and I are going on an anniversary trip! I will definitely do a post about this in the future! We are going to be celebrating four years together snuggled up in the mountains of northern New Mexico. I cannot wait! More details to come!

I am planning on attending a 26 day 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training in October/November and I couldn't be more excited!! I officially have my reservation and flight booked and it's an amazing feeling. I feel like I have finally found my life path; I cannot wait to create a safe space for people to practice, be themselves, and spread love and light. I will definitely keep you updated on that!

I've been reading more and it's been absolutely amazing. I didn't realize how much I missed getting completely wrapped up in a book. I have been reading a lot of books on spirituality and finding your inner self and I've learned a lot! Do I have any book lovers out there?

I recently did a photoshoot with Desert Republic, a local online store that sells cute graphic tanks and other adorable accessories. The best part? Part of the proceeds go to helping homeless youth in the community. It was such an honor to be part of this shoot with Desert Republic and Studio E Photography. I hope to work with Wendy again in the future! She has such a big heart and is so talented so make sure to go check out her amazing businesses. I will definitely create a gallery for this shoot soon!

I also recently became a brand ambassador for a yoga apparel brand based outside of Boston! Altar Ego Apparel makes all of their leggings in the USA plus they are vegan and cruelty free. Altar Ego sources their raw fabric from Italy to make sure their supply chain follows environmental standards and offers fare wages. If you use the code 'desertdwellingyogi' on your purchase you will receive 15% off your order.

(They also offer sorority prints if you are into that sort of thing.)

I just ordered my first pair of leggings so I will definitely let you know what I think of them because I'm not about to encourage you to buy a bad product.

Anyways, I'm here still! I'm doing alright but this is a learning experience for me and I want to grow with mindfulness. All the love.

xx
