Happy March everybody!
The past couple days here have been so nice, full of sunshine and warmth. I could literally feel the sunshine radiating joy into my body. I am looking forward to Spring, new beginnings, and spending more time outside! I have been working with a local business to start monthly New Moon gatherings for women in the community to share, set intentions, and create new relationships. Stay tuned for more info on that!
March sixth marks the New Moon in Pisces, a time to go with the flow of life, release control, dream, and trust in the Universe. New Moons are a very powerful point in the lunar cycle, they represent a time of unlimited possibility, planting seeds, and new beginnings. Some great questions to ask yourself during the New Moon are:
Am I doing as much as I'm being?
What do I hope to accomplish, attract, and manifest?
What am I overcoming this season?
What are your methods of control? How can you shift them to allow for more input from the Universe?
What does your intuition feel like? Where in your body do you feel it?
What will I continue to work on?
What am I grateful for?
New Moons are also a great time to set intentions, everyone will have different intentions they want to set so take some time to write out a few intentions you want to bring into this season with you. Here are a few of my intentions for Pisces season:
TRUST EVERYTHING WILL WORK OUT
SEEK TRUTH IN EVERY SITUATION
WORK WITH THE WORLD AROUND ME
BE TRUE TO MYSELF
DREAM BIG DREAMS
Pisces is the final sign in the zodiac and is often shown as the fish but is really the whole ocean: boundless, all encompassing, and vast. With Pisces there is no separation. No you and I- only energy. We are made of the same vibrations as the Sun, Moon, and the planets. We are the Universe and the Universe is us.
"When we look at the world this way it becomes apparent that when we ask the Universe for guidance, we are really asking our self. When we surrender to the Universe and trust the greater plan of our life, we are really surrendering and trusting our self. This self is our highest self, the one that is without ego or attachment. The self which knows past, present, and future." -Jill Wintersteen, Spirit Daughter
Lessons to learn from Pisces:
Intuition is a superpower
Peace comes from trusting the process
Nothing is permanent, including your problems
Feelings are the key to creating your reality
Pisces is a water sign so for this New Moon try setting up a sacred space around the bathtub and try a ritual bath. Light your favorite candles (lavender is a scent associated with Pisces), create a crystal grid with angelite, labradorite, amethyst, jasper, and agate, add some epsom salts and essential oils to the water, and let the warm water cleanse your physical and energetic body. Baths are also a great place to meditate, feeling your body rise and fall in the water with your breath. Pisces season is the perfect time to practice non-reaction and simply observe the sensations in the body.
You can start in any comfortable position with the eyes closed. Deeply inhale through the nose and exhale out of the mouth, releasing anything that is no longer serving you. Start to draw attention to the breath and where in the body you feel the breath. Starting from the top of the head slowly scan down the body noting how you feel in all the different areas of your body, making sure to just notice the sensations and not the story behind those sensations. Watch the sensations as if you're watching a movie, focusing on one area at a time. If the mind starts to wander just gently bring awareness back to the body and continue your body scan, resisting the urge to judge or evaluate the sensations. There are no good or bad feelings here, only what is happening in the present moment. Continue to move through your body, covering your whole body, piece by piece, with your attention. As you give your body and energy attention, it will be able to release.
If we react to sensations, they are more likely to stay. It is through conscious acknowledgement, without reaction, that the sensations pass. This meditation will help sharpen attention while reducing reactions in situations outside the body.
I also want to throw a reminder out there that I am starting to teach two classes every Saturday morning! If you are interested in practicing with me, now is your chance! Click here to book a Saturday class!
May this Pisces season treat you well, guide you to release control of what is holding you back, and allow you to surrender to the greater power of the Universe. Happy New Moon!
xx
